New Leadership Team of Merchant Metals Will Build on the Company’s Historical Success and Reputation
GREENWICH, Conn. — Atlas Holdings LLC announced today the acquisition of Merchants Metals, Inc. (“Merchants Metals”) from Oldcastle, Inc. — the North American arm of CRH plc — and new additions to its leadership team. Merchants Metals is the second largest fencing manufacturer/distributor in North America. The company manufactures and distributes fencing products for commercial, residential and industrial uses. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
With its strong distribution network and broad product line, Merchants Metals is a recognized leader in the fencing market. The company serves as a reliable, effective “one-stop” source for its customers, delivering thousands of fencing products via its five manufacturing facilities and 39 strategically-located distribution centers. With over 600 associates, the company offers the industry’s largest selection of premium quality fence product solutions for industrial, commercial, high-security and residential applications.
“We are pleased to add Merchants Metals to the Atlas family of companies,” said Ed Fletcher, Partner at Atlas Holdings. “For over six decades, Merchants Metals has been the provider of choice for thousands of professional fence contractors, architects and quality building retailers. We are extremely impressed with the company’s workforce, its strong commitment to safety and passion for success.”
Newly appointed Chief Executive Officer Andrea Hogan joins the existing Merchants Metals management team, and will set strategic direction and provide leadership for the business. Hogan most recently served as Vice President of Business Development for Bridgewell Resources, an Atlas company, and previously as Vice President and General Manager for WESCO International, a leading distributor of electrical and industrial supplies. Also joining Merchants Metals as Chief Operating Officer is Jeff Matuszak, who most recently served as Regional Manager for Boise Cascade. Matuszak also served in various leadership roles at Wood Resources LLC, a former Atlas company, for nearly a decade.
“I am extremely excited to be joining Merchants Metals’ outstanding leadership team,” Hogan said. “I look forward to working with Merchants Metals’ dedicated associates to deliver superior customer service while creating long-term value for the business.”
“We look forward to working with new CEO Andrea Hogan, an outstanding leadership team, and the hundreds of dedicated associates of Merchants Metals to deliver superior customer service and create long-term value for the business,” Fletcher added. “We believe Merchants Metals is poised for continued growth and success in the future.”
